Banana Face Mask Recipes for All Skin Types

Banana face masks are both nourishing and moisturizing and particularly great for dry, aging and combination skin. Mash up a banana and spread it on your face or use the recipes below to create masks formulated for your skin type.
I use only organic bananas in my face masks just as I eat only organic bananas. They are one of the many fruits you don't want to take chances on. While bananas are great for the skin, pesticides are not.

Banana Mask for Oily Skin

This face mask will brighten skin while soothing it. It works best on oily skin.
  • 1 banana, preferably ripe (you can keep ripe bananas in the freezer. Let it thaw before using)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp lemon or orange juice
Mash up the banana, then mix in the honey. For best results, put the ingredients in a blender.
Add the juice of the lemon or orange
Apply to face for 15 minutes before rinsing with a cool washcloth or a steaming warm washcloth. Follow with your regular moisturizer.

Clay & Banana Mask

This mask works on all skin types, but is particularly great for oily and combination skin.
Mash up the banana, sprinkle in the green clay (bentonite clay will work, too) and stir in the orange flower water and juice.
Apply to skin, wait 15 minutes, then rinse off.

Avocado & Banana Mask

Avocados and bananas are 2 of the most moisturizing ingredients found in face masks. Add in the honey and you've got the perfect mask for super dry skin.
  • 1/3 avocado (sprinkle salt on the rest and eat it)
  • 1/3 banana, mashed.
  • 1 tsp runny honey (if your honey is hardened, run it under hot water)
Mash up the ingredients in a bowl or in a blender, spread over the face, relax for 15 minutes, then rinse off. Follow with an oil and a moisturizing cream.
