There are a lot of things that can ruin a diet, especially during the holidays but low calorie cocktails are not one of them. A person can reduce calories and eat right all week, only to have it all ruined by drinking syrupy, sugar packed, not so skinny cocktails over the weekend. Those calories can be reduced without cutting out drinking altogether. Make them low calorie cocktails by replacing syrup with real fruits and fruit juices. Here are a few recipes so you can make your own low calorie alcoholic drinks, slim your waist and all while still enjoying yourself.
 

Piña coladas are a big favorite for many people, but can contain large amounts of calories when high amounts of syrup are used. Try replacing syrups with real pineapple, coconut and coconut flavored vodka. Add 2 ounces of club soda, as it doesn’t have syrup or sugar in it. Next, add pineapple juice and a squeeze of lemon. This is one of the best low calorie cocktails with only 170 calories compared to a normal pina colada that packs 526 calories!





For Margaritas, there are alternatives to those high calorie mixers. Try buying the sugar free margarita mix. Add 2 ounces of tequila with 4-6 ounces of water. Serve with a squeeze of lime and ice. This low calorie cocktail is only 100 calories, one of the lowest of the list. Not only that, but it tastes good too. They have different flavors too, depending on the type that is preferred.


Espresso Kiss is a coffee flavored alcoholic beverage. Try this skinny cocktail version. Pour 1 1/2 ounces of espresso flavored vodka in a glass along with 2/3 ounce of Irish Cream Liqueur. This cocktail is only 110 calories and still tastes wonderful. For those that like Irish cream in their coffee, this is a perfect! Add the cream to the low calorie count and enjoy after a great meal over good conversation.


 This next drink is a nice alternative for those who love Mimosas, but not the cream. Use 2 ounces of orange juice, 4 ounces of champagne, and the juice of half an orange, or 1-2 ounces. Squeeze the orange into the glass first, then add in the light orange juice and champagne. You can add a sprig of mint leaves to dress it up a little. At only 120 calories, this is sure to be a skinny cocktail favorite for celebrations of every sort.
