There are a lot of things that can ruin a diet, especially during the holidays but low calorie cocktails are not one of them. A person can reduce calories and eat right all week, only to have it all ruined by drinking syrupy, sugar packed, not so skinny cocktails over the weekend. Those calories can be reduced without cutting out drinking altogether. Make them low calorie cocktails by replacing syrup with real fruits and fruit juices. Here are a few recipes so you can make your own low calorie alcoholic drinks, slim your waist and all while still enjoying yourself.
Piña coladas are a big favorite for many people, but can contain large amounts of calories when high amounts of syrup are used. Try replacing syrups with real pineapple, coconut and coconut flavored vodka. Add 2 ounces of club soda, as it doesn’t have syrup or sugar in it. Next, add pineapple juice and a squeeze of lemon. This is one of the best low calorie cocktails with only 170 calories compared to a normal pina colada that packs 526 calories!
For Margaritas, there are alternatives to those high calorie mixers.
Try buying the sugar free margarita mix. Add 2 ounces of tequila with
4-6 ounces of water. Serve with a squeeze of lime and ice. This low
calorie cocktail is only 100 calories, one of the lowest of the list.
Not only that, but it tastes good too. They have different flavors too,
depending on the type that is preferred.
Espresso Kiss is a coffee flavored alcoholic beverage. Try this
skinny cocktail version. Pour 1 1/2 ounces of espresso flavored vodka in
a glass along with 2/3 ounce of Irish Cream Liqueur. This cocktail is
only 110 calories and still tastes wonderful. For those that like Irish
cream in their coffee, this is a perfect! Add the cream to the low
calorie count and enjoy after a great meal over good conversation.
This next drink is a nice alternative for those who love Mimosas, but
not the cream. Use 2 ounces of orange juice, 4 ounces of champagne, and
the juice of half an orange, or 1-2 ounces. Squeeze the orange into the
glass first, then add in the light orange juice and champagne. You can
add a sprig of mint leaves to dress it up a little. At only 120
calories, this is sure to be a skinny cocktail favorite for celebrations
of every sort.
There are four low calorie cocktails to enjoy while watching your
weight. From the calorie-rich pina colada, to the mimosa, we’ve dressed
up and served wonderful drinks that have a little something for a
variety of palates. By getting rid of the syrups and sugar in a lot of
these drinks, we’ve cut calories in half. It’s a great way to enjoy
one’s self and still keep on track. By simply removing these sugary
products you won’t sacrifice any flavor and will keep looking great in
skinny jeans, through the weekends and all.
