After the occasional rough day, it's nice to come home,
uncork a bottle of wine, and have good, solid cry. Unfortunately, things
like roommates, neighbors, and even the mental well being of your cat
can keep you from really letting those tears rip as much as you'd like.
Enter: "crying rooms," newly available at the Mitsu Garden
Hotel Yotsuya in Tokyo, Japan. These glorious accommodations include
tissues (obviously), warm eye masks, and sob-inducing movies like Forrest Gump, The Notebook, One Day, and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, according to Time.com.
Apparently, the rooms were created for Japanese women aged 20 to 40 who
live a stressful life, a spokesperson for the hotel told Time.com.
Have a lot of emotion welling up inside of you, too? You better book a
trip to Japan fast—the rooms are available through a special promotion
that only lasts until August 31.
And though this idea is pure genius, we think the rooms
might be even better with the addition of an on-call snuggler to comfort
you mid-cry, a mini bar filled with cabernet and ice cream, and a
post-stay spa treatment to help de-puff your eyes. Hopefully they'll
take our requests under consideration.
